Mingo Falls

The day after Dale's birthday we decided to go see our first NC waterfall. Mingo Falls is on the Cherokee Reservation and fairly easy to get to. Accept that the stairs going up had ice right at the top that we had to walk over.
And this is a close up of the steps. If you look closely you might be able to see the layer of ice with water running underneath. Dale walking up to the waterfall. You can see the snow on the ground.
The waterfall in all its glory. Or at least as much of it as I could capture with my point in shoot in the limited light.

The kids in front of the waterfall. Dale was hesitant at first, saying he hated waterfalls because they were too "shoosy which means they are scary and too high" or something like that. (That is really how he makes up words to describe things now and then gives and explanation as to what his word means). Then when he saw it both he and Emma were very excited and couldn't wait to see another one.
Here is Jason and Emma walking down the stairs on our way back to the car.
