Happy Birthday Dale!

This photograph says it well! Dale turned 5 today. I can barely believe it. I brought pumpkin muffins to his class today in celebration of the event. He was very excited bt had a bit of difficulty separating his actual birthday from the party which will happen Saturday. He was especially perturbed that I was not making him a cake today. He wanted one today and one Saturday I guess! He chose ham and pineapple pizza as his birthday dinner. Jason loved that choice too!

This is a photo of Dale from December 30th when we played in the snow. He has an enormous amount of energy and loves to have fun. He still loves cars and trains and he loves to play fight with his sister which doesn't always end well. He has started really enjoying the small lego sets and loves Star Wars (which I of course enjoy and Jason thinks is dorky/nerdy). Dale loves books, movies, and video games especially racing ones. A few of his favorite movies are Cars (still! 3 years and going strong), Kung Fu Panda, TMNT, and How To Train Your Dragon. He also loves playing outside at the playground, riding his bike (with training wheels), playing basketball, and playing soccer. Oh and swords, guns, and bows and arrows. This kid loves play fighting with pretend weapons.

He loves his siblings, and is great helping with William. This photo is of him "reading" a book about the Revolutionary War to William. I left him with William for a few minutes while Emma and I ran over to a neighbor to give her some cinnamon rolls. When I got back he was explaining to William why the man in the picture was chasing another man with an axe! "Mom, what is that again?" "That's and axe" "Oh, yeah, right. William this guy was chasing the bad guy with an axe to get him." haha. I love him! He unloads the dishwasher now as a chore and helps in other ways around the house. He brings so much joy to in our lives, despite some of his annoying quirks (I am sure some of them will be mentioned later on this blog)

Dale, I am glad you are my son. Happy Birthday!
